…almost three months! Wow. Working with a startup really sucks out all of my spare time–that, and not living near the ocean nor anywhere near anything remotely inspiring by way of photography. There’s only so many times I can shoot over the same set of highway overpasses…
Over the weekend, Sunshine and I headed out to Mt. Laguna for what we intended to be a 5-6 mile hike. Instead, we ended up going almost 10 miles, including the last two in the complete dark along the PCT. Thankfully, we were much more prepared for this than the last time we ended up hiking in the almost-dark, so it wasn’t the panic it was then.
My camera battery was really low, so I limited my pictures heavily. Still, once we were up on the flanks of Mt. Laguna, we had an awesome view of this stunning sunset:
And as we got even further up the slope, we found that we could see all the way to the ocean’s horizon (look just to the right of the treetop near the center)–now THAT’s a clear day in San Diego!
It was super strenuous, and we’re really out of shape, but it was an awesome hike–glad we did it, and we’ve got to get out there more!
