blowing out the carbons…

…wow, lookin’ pretty dusty in here. Lots going on since I last posted, but none of it really germane, so ’nuff said.

I tried shooting the Perseids earlier this months — had three cameras set up covering the sky, took over 1100 pictures, and not ONE DAMN SINGLE HIT. Not surprising since I only saw maybe 2 dozen the whole time I was out (light pollution and typical Floridian overcast conspired to screw me for all but the brightest fireballs). I shall have to scout out darker locations for this kind of work…

But in the process of preparing for that trip, which also included my first successful use of my new intervalometer (fancy word for timer shutter trigger), I cleaned off all of my memory cards for all of the cameras, and found some stuff which hadn’t been posted yet, so… (click ’em to embiggen)…

One night, hanging on Mission Beach with Sufyan, we spotted some dolphins:
