A few days ago, I took advantage of some late-afternoon downtime to go do some low-tide shooting at La Jolla Shores, and came up with some nice stuff.

Here’s a couple of Scripps Pier:

The low tides and wide sands make for lots of reflective opportunities, some of my favorite shooting:

The setting sun also caused some interesting refractive flares at either side of it–unfortunately, this shot doesn’t really do the color richness of the flare any justice, as I think the air was too heavy with mist and particulates for the CCD to pick up the colors.  Oh well…

Another cool thing: a couple of the pylons under the pier had starfish attached!
